PROJECT 4
This event poster centers on John Mayer's upcoming solo tour in Europe. Since he is one of my favorite musical artists, it seemed natural to create an advertisement for his latest world tour, which is taking place throughout Europe during March of 2024. Since the tour spans numerous different countries, I had to find a way to incorporate the ten tour dates into a cohesive design. Additionally, I included a reference to John Mayer's website where tickets can be purchased.
I created my poster entirely in Photoshop, and started by applying numerous layer styles to the cut out image of John Mayer in order to give it a unique, vectorized appearance. I deliberately incorporated the principles of hierarchy and overlap into my poster, which I felt helped create a strong, balanced design. The title, being a prominent focal point at the top of the poster, is contained within two white lines, which help it stand out from the rest of the text and capture the viewer's attention. Furthermore, numerous points of overlap - such as the guitar and black boxes that go behind the image - add a sense of depth to my design. Lastly, I unified my poster with a simple teal and black color palette.
